Slowcoast: Exploring San Francisco

Everybody needs a vacation. Even if for a few days, it is so important to be able to get away, recharge your batteries and rejuvenate. As my quick getaway from Seattle I chose to visit a dear friend in San Francisco whom I haven’t seen in about a year.

The weather cooperated the entire trip, while still being drastically different between the city itself and the East Bay where I was staying. I am talking ten degree difference and a need for a warm scarf as soon as I got off the BART in San Fran.

There are many highlights from the trip that come to mind: walking on the Golden Gate bridge at sunset, drinking green tea at the Japanese tea garden, exploring the funky shops of Haight street and driving down California’s route 1 where the sun was shining in my face and the salt from the ocean took an overpowering presence in our car. Amazing time with friends, a fantastic city to photograph and gorgeous weather – what else can one ask for from a mini vacation trip?
