When Claire first reached out to me, she mentioned she was shopping for a photographer for her senior portraits and that she wanted something different. Something more dynamic and striking, with a more artistic quality rather than just simply smiling at the camera.
Instantly, I knew what she was talking about. I got curious about what her vision was and we began the preliminary work of putting together a mood board and narrowing down outfits.
My goal in photography is to capture something different. To find wild women, free souls and kindred spirits who crave to be seen.
What I saw was a beautiful soul wanting to be captured unlike the rest. Someone who is usually behind the camera but rarely gets photos of herself. A young woman with a warm, engaging personality who wanted to showcase a different side of herself to be remembered many years down the line. I admired Claire’s desire to be her fully individual self.
We met on a sunny Friday in Seattle, which in October is a rarity. It was warm and the sun was high in the sky, which was perfect for our fashion magazine inspired looks. I love the images we created. The windswept looks, dynamic angles, contrasting elements. I love that we got to let Claire showcase a part of her personality that perhaps not everyone gets to always see.
My goal in photography is to capture something different. To find wild women, free souls and kindred spirits who crave to be seen. I hope that this passion and desire keeps attracting lovely clients like Claire where an equal exchange of creativity and excitement contributes to the creation of something magical, ethereal, eternal.
